Back in the mid-1960s, Polock Joe started a creative shop (screen printing, photography, graphics, painting) in Minneapolis, MN. The shop was named the Polish UNDERground Press and it operated until around 1969 when Joe moved to Des Moines. The Press created a number of posters including a few for the motorcycle club. This poster, created around 1967, features a club mama sitting on Irish’s (EFMC Kansas City, MO) shovel head holding a helmet. The poster was created as a fundraising piece to protest the helmet law. If you zoom in you can see some pen writing from Shifty. One thing that’s difficult to see is the print credits at the bottom of the poster. They are on all of Joe’s posters and read “DESIGNED by the “Polish UNDERground Press” 3010 Lyndale Ave. So. Mpls.” The posters we are selling are reproductions of the original poster that Tom had in his Sioux City shop. This poster measures 18x24” and is printed on high-quality matte paper. It will be shipped rolled in a thick cardboard tube.
