How it Started - 1961

$20.00

This is where it all started. This photo, taken in 1961, shows a 20-year old Tom Fugle riding his 1956 Harley. No beard. No patch. No idea what would come next. He had recently purchased the bike for $800 and that would be the most he ever paid for a motorcycle the rest of his life. This is the first photo of Tom on a Harley and it might be the last photo of him on a stock bike. Soon after this photo was taken, Tom wrecked the front end and around that same time, Tiny moved back to Sioux City from California and introduced Tom to his ‘48 panhead chopper. Tom described it as “the wildest motorcycle I’d ever seen!” Once Tiny saw the bike Tom had wrecked he told him that it was the perfect time to chop it. Although skeptical about chopping it up, Tom decided to build a bike that was clean with alot of chrome. That bike became Blue Sapphire and later Only One Love. The rest is history. This might be the most important photo in the archive as it is the photo that started it all. This poster measures 20x16” and is printed on high-quality matte paper. It will be shipped rolled in a thick cardboard tube.
