1976 Repeal the Helmet Law T-Shirt

1976 Repeal the Helmet Law T-Shirt

$30.00

In the Summer of 1975, the state of Iowa snuck in a law that made riding a motorcycle without a helmet illegal. The law was heavily protested by Tom and thousands of other motorcycle riders around the state. During protests at both the Woodbury County Courthouse in Sioux City and the State Capitol Building in Des Moines, Tom stood on stage and gave speeches as to why he was against the law. Tom felt that the government should not be allowed to regulate what a motorcycle rider can and cannot wear. In the Spring of 1976, Tom and some of his club brothers and friends printed and sold these shirts in Des Moines before the big helmet law rally.

The protests worked as the state repealed the law in April of 1976 and it has remained that way every since!

These shirts are printed as a limited run and will be shipping in late June…just in time for you to wear them on your July 4th ride or while you are lighting fireworks to celebrate your freedom!
